Dr. Reza Berenjkar (born 1342 SH / 1963/1964 CE in Rasht) is one of the prominent and trend-setting figures in the field of Islamic theology (Kalām) and philosophy. After receiving his diploma in mathematics and physics in 1360 SH (1981/1982 CE), he entered the Qom Seminary with the aim of gaining a deep understanding of Islamic teachings, and simultaneously completed his university education in Western philosophy up to the doctoral level at the University of Tehran. As a full professor at the University of Tehran, he has established a firm link between seminary tradition and modern university methods. Authoring more than 25 volumes of reference books and 180 specialized articles and entries, along with designing and founding the field of Imami Theology at advanced levels in the seminary and university, is only part of his academic record. In addition to his extensive managerial backgrounds, he holds the chair of teaching advanced courses (Dars-e Kharij) in theology at the Qom Seminary. One of his most enduring achievements is academic capacity-building and training researchers at the doctoral and master's levels.
